We are off to a good start! We are learning to walk silently in the hallway. We have earned a marshmallow party on Monday!
Parents, if you are shopping and you see 24 packs of crayola crayons on clearance snatch a few up. That is the supply we run out of the most along with kleenex.
We are working on number bonds and adding from 5. Ask your child to count the math way for you. If you want to count with them, they can mirror you. Start with both fists up in front of your chest. Then you raise your right pinky, that is 1, the next finger is 2 and so on. They mirror you with their left pinky as 1.
We began to read silently to ourselves on Friday as well. We were able to sit about 10 minutes and read mostly to ourselves. We are fortunate to have a large classroom so we can spread out!
Continue to read with your child at least 20 minutes a night using our metacognition! This will really help your child when we are in class using the same words!
